The Essentials On The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino Opening

Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino Opens to Public The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino (affectionately called COSMO, our next door neighbor) effectively and formally opened their entrance doors on December 15th, 2010 at approximately 8:00 pm. Data groups were dispatched outdoors and Las Vegas Blvd. clamored with excitement. The Grand Opening Party was held on December 31st, 2010. Popular music was virtually performing from the roof tops filling the Blvd. residents with the New Years Eve mood. Cosmo has furnished our Las Vegas Blvd. access signs with some landscape gardening by the north door.

Do it yourself Auto parking is presently at your disposal for all Jockey Club owners and good friends. Level 3 B parking range located in Cosmos 5 story underground auto parking structure is the allocated space for all Jockey Club cars and trucks. Level 3 B is the single level of the parking structure that the Jockey Club elevators are constructed to connect with your “home away from home”. Just after Jockey Club owners park on the level 3B, you will savor taking one of the two Jockey Club centrally situated on the north wall of the development specified and named elevators to the 1st floor or 2nd floor. Then go on to either the main receiving area or pool deck (pool doors are key card accessibility) area of the Jockey Club. These elevators will also access the Cosmopolitans Casino area as they each open on the south to the north and vice versa.

As you may know the Cosmopolitan has expended approximately 8 million dollars into the Jockey Club to date. It commenced with changing the Fire Protection System components. While we were code certified with fire safety, upgrades were beneficial brought about by the nearby vicinity of the new Cosmo. All common space and interiors of each suite are already retrofitted with sprinklers, strobes and speakers for announcing possible emergency situations. Modern emergency generators as well as extra water tanks have been installed and all fire exiting has been rerouted to the north drive. The water softening system tanks have been moved from underground to two considerable above ground installations. Demolition of areas not made use of under our pool deck has been undertaken.

Both Ascot and Derby Tower entrances have been taken from the south side to the north side of both constructions including matching marble and brass portal doors. The Porte Cochere (key entrance overhang drive up) was built with stone drive up, stone faced pillars, stained cement sidewalks, and Valet presentation areas and bell storage space. Our waste chutes were fitted with 2 compactors facilitating 4 dumpsters worth of waste to be dispensed into one reservoir. The gas meters and electric boxes are being transferred to a more ideal location. The team member only behind-the-scenes movement space has been improved for much easier approach from building to building with linens and large cleaning devices.

The computer connectivity for the inner workings of the Jockey Club was shifted to the far west end of the Derby tower ground level. Cosmo has paid for the 24/7 Valet Parking assistance and the 2 years of overflow parking at the Planet Hollywood; however, Cosmo will cease paying for the Jockey Club Valet services upon the launching of the new resort. They have repaved the entire north drive with completely new blacktop. 75 daily pool passes have been granted for Jockey Club owners and guests to use on the main Bamboo pool and sun deck area of the Cosmo as well as the two Jockey Club tennis courts that have been relocated to the Cosmo roof top. Generally there are innovative new elements to ascertain in 2011.

Camotes Island Resort

You can take a ferry both or a fast craft from Pier 1 in Cebu City to port poro Camotes but it is much further and will still take four hours to reach to Mangodlong and Santiago Camotes. My friend and I stayed at The Mangodlong Rock resort. We were told it was one of the nicest beach resorts on Camotes Island. The service was good and it is reasonably priced.

We began our tour at Lake Danao which was one the biggest lakes that I ever seen. It was nice but we decided not to change into our swim suits and take a swim. After Lake Danao we proceeded to the place they called Sunog cave. It was huge and we were told the water was very deep. It was very dark and kind of eerie inside that cave so we again decided against going for a swim. Perhaps we will the next time we visit that cave.

The third part of your tour is in Boho Buro. We climbed to the top of the cliff looking down into the deep blue water of the beach below. The beach looked like a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a lazy day playing in the waves. Even though we were getting tired, there was still time to stop by the other cave near by called Bukilat cave. I really dont know why they use that kind of funny name for a cave. No one gave me a reason for the name when I asked about it. The Bukilat cave is smaller than the Sunog cave and has plenty of light because of several holes in the ceiling that gives direct light from the sun.

New Campaign Promotes Destination Weddings In Mexico

The Mexico Tourism Board has launched a new campaign that will promote the countrys most romantic resorts as wedding venues.

The new Love Mexico campaign is being pushed in cities across Mexico and the United States to encourage couples to book destination weddings at the countrys resorts and hotels.

The Tourism Board, a Mexico-based government agency, is running a series of events in Dallas, New York and the Riviera Maya where resorts, wedding suppliers, wedding planners and wedding travel specialists will be able to showcase their offerings.

We were delighted with the response to this years Love Mexico events; all of the vendors and buyers that I spoke to had great feedback, explained Eduardo Chaillo, the Executive Meetings Unit Director for Mexico Tourism Board.

With its combination of natural beauty, rich culture, world-class hotels and resorts and outstanding service, Mexico is the ultimate destination for weddings, honeymoons and romantic getaways. As the destination weddings market grows and changes Mexico will continue to develop its offering.

The number of couples planning weddings abroad is on the rise and Mexico is a popular destination for engaged couples from all over the world.

Mexico weddings are chosen by many couples from the United States due to the countrys beautiful landscapes, close proximity to the U.S, reliably warm weather, and the array of resorts that offer incredible value for money.

Cabo San Lucas is one of Mexicos leading wedding destinations and the city is located at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. It boasts beautiful sandy beaches, world-class scuba diving sites and upscale hotels and resorts.

Beach weddings are a favourite for many couples and Mexico has plenty of beautiful sandy beaches that create the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

Cancun is located on the Yucatan channel which separates Mexico from the Caribbean island of Cuba and it is a fantastic region for idyllic ceremonies. After weddings in Cancun, newlyweds can extend the celebrations with fun-packed honeymoons where they can enjoy water activities in the Nichupte Lagoon or explore historic Mayan archaeological sites such as Kinichna, Dzibanche and Tulum.

Mexico is also expected to become a hotspot for gay and lesbian destination weddings and according to the U.S business magazine, Forbes, this could lead to a USD9.5 billion increase to Mexicos economy each year.

Austria Ski Vacations Beat The Recession

This year the vacation industry is having a hard time of it as the recession bites deep into consumer spending but Europe’s ski industry seems to be holding its own in the world market. Although not all countries have weathered the poor economy and a few warm winters well, some are still just as popular as ever with the skiing crowd.

France has been the most popular European ski destination for as long as nearly anyone can remember. It features not only the perfect weather for skiing, but breathtaking scenery as well. Whether you are in the Alps, the Massif Central or the Jura, there are hundreds of miles of ski slopes to be found.

As it has for decades, France remained the number one ski destination in Europe last year. While surrounding countries lost a portion of their market share of the ski industry, France managed to make small gains.

Austria falls just after France in the roundup of popular European ski destinations. Austria is the preferred destination for celebrities and royalty, with its luxurious resorts and picturesque scenery.

But there is more to Austria’s ski industry than meets the eye. Not too long ago, it was feared that the entire industry was doomed. Rumors of global warming, coupled with unseasonably warm weather over one or two ski seasons, threatened to drive down the booming business of Austrian ski resorts.

Last year however, things once again began to look up for Austria. There was plenty of snow, and the tourists came in strong numbers. According to industry reports, Austria’s ski bookings were up 2.8 percent from the previous year. The country’s resorts held a 21.8 percent share of the ski vacation market in Europe.

Not that Austria ever broke a sweat over the previous year’s temperatures. The Austrian ski resort Klosters has been a favorite Spring destination for Prince Charles and his sons, Princes Harry and William, for many years. In fact, it was during a ski in Austria holiday at Klosters that the world was introduced to Lady Diana Spencer as Charles’ future wife.

This year, the royal family again took to the slopes for a little springtime recreation. They were joined for the first time by Kate Middleton, an accomplished skier who happens to be Prince William’s girlfriend.

In addition to the British royal family, Austria’s ski resorts hosted the King and Queen of Sweden among many other famous faces. Why Austria above other famous ski destinations?

It could have something to do with the history of the region. Hannes Scheider developed the modern ski technique in Austria at St. Anton’s Arlberg Ski School. His instruction allowed generations of skiers to turn and stop on their skis: two essential pieces of technique. St. Anton remains one of the top destinations for skiers, partly for its beautiful slopes and partly because it is, for all intents and purposes, the birthplace of skiing as we now know it.

Perhaps Austria’s popularity as a ski destination has more to do with the internationally known Austrian hospitality. When you book a stay in an Austrian hotel or ski resort, you know that you will be welcomed as a part of the family. The locals are more than happy to share their knowledge of the area as well as inside knowledge of the best slopes and restaurants.

Whatever their personal reasons are for continuing to ski in Austria, devotees wouldn’t think of taking a ski trip anywhere else. Austrian resorts may not share the same widespread popularity of some French resorts, but patrons wouldn’t have it any other way. When they arrive, they are not overwhelmed by wave after wave of skiers. At most resorts, the slopes are quiet and serene, with just the perfect amount of natural snow.

Austria boasts unparalleled natural beauty and a guest list including royalty and celebrities. But even if the royals stayed home, Austrian ski resorts would continue to bring in a healthy amount of business. This is what Austria is about, and the ski industry there can look forward to the 2010 ski holidays season with confidence.
